Let us not lift up our souls to any idol, but pray to be saved from all sins; then the enemy will be hurled down to the earth.

Key Verses     Genesis 39:20-21 / Isaiah 58:11

Genesis 39 / Isaiah 58           Righteousness, and Good deeds

1.  Be righteous and overcome sin

Though the adulteress took notice of Joseph with affection day after day, he feared God and would never do such a wicked thing.  God is with him who overcomes the temptation, flees from adultery, and overcomes sins in righteousness.

2.  Remove evil to do good

Do not fast or seek for God from rituals.  Be sure to remove quarreling and wickedness from one’s heart.  Then if you show mercy to the poor and get rid of wickedness to do good, your darkness will turn into light.

Psalm 39 / Revelation 12:9       Wait for the Lord, and Hurl down

I have watched my ways and kept my tongue from sins, and I have not turned to falsehoods.  O Lord, save me from all my transgressions.  I will wait for the Lord silently and wholeheartedly.  When the enemy is hurled down, I may regain my strength.
